According to Maritimemanual.com, the legend of the lost city of Atlantis is one of the most popular and interesting legends of the sea. Atlantis is a (possibly) fictional island first mentioned in the works of Plato around 360 BC. It is described as a utopian civilization built by the god Poseidon for his human bride, Cleito, and was filled with riches. It is believed that the city sank into the sea after a huge hurricane or tsunami, but its exact location has never been found.
Fast forward to the early 2000's when developers decided to bring the legend to life in a lush oceanside resort on Paradise Island near Nassau, Bahamas. Adagio docked in Atlantis' harbour for a night, surrounded by the largest fleet of private yachts we had ever seen. Our boat was 10 feet shorter than the smallest boat in the marina, and it was a humbling experience, to say the least. But boaters are universally friendly and helpful, no matter the size of one's boat, and we soon felt right at home. The resort is beautiful and we would come back in the future.
Bigger isn’t always better!! 😊
That resort has always fascinated me!
We have been there and it is beautiful❣️🤩❣️
