From Sarasota, Adagio continues cruising south through an archipelago of small islands off Florida's coast. Stopping in Boca Grande, Cabbage Key, and Captiva, we experienced what locals call "Old Florida." Many of these islands were first developed in the 1930s when northerners started coming south to escape harsh winters, and golf carts are often the preferred mode of transportation.

At Cabbage Key, we joined the ranks of Ernest Hemingway, Katharine Hepburn, Ted Koppel, Ed McMahon, Rob Lowe, Julia Roberts, and Jimmy Buffett when we stopped for lunch and a drink at the Lost-in-Time Bar. Legend has it that Buffett was so inspired by the bar's cheeseburger that he wrote a song about it, so of course, we had to try one - yummy! The ceiling of the bar is plastered with dollar bills from previous patrons.
